How we get Lean into the roots of FPZ
The effects of lean practices on the three pillars of corporate social responsibility. How a traditional lean manufacturing operations system could be aligned with environmental goals and practices.
BIOGRAPHY:
Sergio Ferigo is Chief Executive Officer of FPZ, an international Group active in the production of fluid handling technologies.

Under his leadership FPZ introduced the Lean Thinking Methodology in all the business areas, from the strategy development to the production, sales, and R&D.
Today the great change that Sergio and FPZ people are bringing forth concerns the transformation of the production layout (from batch to one piece flow) with the ambitious aim of creating a more and more customer-oriented company.

What we had to overcome to make the most lean and effective layout possible
Sticking to the traditional way of working or challenging the status quo? That is the question. When we have met with major changes, like growing customer's demand, expansion of the company with capacity increase, and request to be more productive, we opted for the second option. This alternative was more complex, included the risk of trying something new, but resulted in numerous benefits recognised by all that were involved. How our team managed to alter the layout of production using lean tools and innovative technologies to make the whole process as effective as possible?
